Q&A with Director Kevin McMahon and film critic Barry Grant to follow screening
Borealis is a unique cinematic documentary that travels deep into the heart of Canada’s iconic wilderness to explore how the plants and animals that live there communicate and survive the destructive forces of fire, insects, and human encroachment.
Kevin McMahon began his career as an investigative reporter before shifting to film in the 1980s. His critically lauded films are described as “visually stunning and brilliantly conceived” (The Globe and Mail); “they deal with important topics and never shirk the difficulties inherent in complex issues” (Take One magazine). Kevin has directed more than 20 films and produced dozens of hours of non-fiction television. His work is focused on environmental themes.
